National Design Centre
As Singapore’s primary hub for design, the National Design Centre won the President’s Design Award: Design of the Year 2016. Expanded metal was a key design element - the diamond-shaped apertures of Aluminium Facade Mesh and Louvre Mesh diffuse light and air, selectively revealing some of the programmes behind yet concealing functional elements such as the required fire stair.
